Quebec’s biggest casino will tack on some pretty strict health precautions when its doors reopen.

For starters, the Casino de Montreal will have opening and closing hours instead of being open 24/7. To allow for a “thorough disinfection,” the casino will be open every day from 9 am to 4 am.

During operating hours, “strict sanitary measures” will be put in place including frequent cleaning and the mandatory use of masks for everyone entering the building. “You must wear a mask or face covering in our establishment,” states the Casino de Montreal website.

Guests will be able to obtain free masks at the door.

Only six sections of the casino will be open each of which will allow up to 250 people at a time.

All of the game’s chips will be disinfected once per day and protective barriers have been installed at various tables and food counters throughout the venue. Guests will also be required to wash their hands upon entering and at certain areas throughout the casino.

Slot machines are available in accordance with physical distancing standards and the number of tables and customers per table will be limited to respect the mandatory distance of two metres between each other. For all table games, players will not be able to touch any gaming equipment, including cards and chips.

Keno and poker games will remain closed for the time being.
